Pochampally sarees have its origin from the Pochampally Village. These sarees are also called Ikkat Pochampally Sarees.
Pochampally Ikkat Sarees are Pure silk and Pure Handloom.

Ikkat is a Special type of Tie and Die Technique where the Silk threads are dyed with colours first and then woven into a saree.

These different coloured silk threads will be Placed in vertical and horizontal directions to get a Particular Design / Pattern on the sarees.

It will almost take seven days to weave an Ikkat Pochampally Pure Silk saree when two members work Continuously. This process increases the worth of the Saree, When compared to a Machine made artificial saree.
